Head of Design

The position

We are looking for a Head of Design to lead and progress the vision for our service along with heading up our small but established design team.

As the leader in this area at Netwealth you will immerse yourself in the user journeys to deliver industry leading experiences along with instilling a user-centred design culture. Our industry is made up of both old and new methodologies and so we're looking for someone to own the unique direction of applying both the technical aspects of our platform along with catering for users who still require a human to assist them. We are looking for someone to shape and deliver every design aspect from marketing to our website and app.

Who should apply for this position?

Someone with at least 15 years of design experience, 5 years as Head of Design, with a portfolio showing amazing products you've launched. Extensive UX experience and understanding; the ability to craft high-end UI designs; experience with agile workflows and partnering with various other teams; a mindset of always keeping Netwealth's high standards at the forefront of what we deliver.

Skills and experience

Must haves

• A strong design portfolio demonstrating the many and varied techniques that got into product design.
• 5+ years' experience in leading and mentoring a design team.
• Practical UX leadership, facilitating workshops and user testing.
• Demonstrable experience of building Design Systems.
• A strategic thinker and an expert in translating user behaviour into a great experience.
• A strong hands-on designer in order to facilitate and progress strategic decisions into tangible prototypes and designs.
• A want to shape the product based on user-centric data.
• Communicating regularly with senior managers, stake holders, and Product Owners to make sure the product is aligned with our initial goals.
• Experience with Design Systems and able to communicate their value to the company.
• Maintaining brand consistency and further developing the brand throughout every user touch point.
• A strong understanding and experience with accessibility.
• Ability to think and plan independently and to communicate those plans to others.
• Experience with our primary design tool Figma along with the Adobe Creative Suite.
• A solid understanding and welcoming of feedback.
• Analytical tools such as Hotjar and Google Analytics.

Nice to haves

• Experience with illustration and animations.
