UI Designer

The position

We are looking for a motivated and experienced UI Designer to join our design team and help continue building our online web apps.

Working alongside UX design (with relevant overlap) and our development teams, you will be crafting design interfaces and easy-to-use experiences for every interaction our users have with us, from the website to the mobile app.

Primary responsibilities will be working closely with our UX designer, liaising with our product owner and stakeholders, wireframing, prototyping, motion design, high-end UI design and occasional marketing assets.

Who should apply for this position?

We are looking for someone with 3-5 years experience and an overall good understanding of design workflows and working with other designers. You may have experience in both in-house and agency and are now looking to establish yourself as a key member of a design team within an already successful but still young and expanding company.

Skills and experience

Must haves

• Partnering with our product owner, UX designer and highly-skilled development team to understand requirements and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
• Explore a variety of design solutions and collaborate on choosing the correct path through wireframes and prototypes.
• Take design projects from kick-off meetings through to concept and final product.
• An understanding of Design Systems and their benefits.
• Maintaining brand consistency throughout all projects.
• A basic understanding of HTML and CSS to build in-browser prototypes where required.
• Participating in client meetings including presenting and asking questions to get the necessary information to complete projects.
• Iterate on your designs based on internal feedback, user feedback and business needs.
• A great communicator who potentially over-communicates little and often inorder to maintain a smooth workflow with the other teams.
• Experience in designing for a wide range of devices and resolutions to make sure everything looks great everywhere.
• Expert proficiency with our main design tool Figma.
• A self-motivated desire to constantly learn and improve your craft.

Nice to haves

• Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud apps primarily Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• A good understanding of UX design and accommodating its overlap in some cases where needed.
• Experience in creating illustrations.
• Experience in creating animations.
